Reinhard Prügl, born 1976, studied in Vienna and Cadiz and joined the Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration in 2002. His general research interests are Entrepreneurship, Innovation, Management, and Marketing.
He enjoys researching and teaching in an emerging field and rapidly changing environment and believes that entrepreneurial skills should a universally taught subject in the 21st century. Prügl work covers a wide range of empirical projects and subject areas, including user innovation, lead user research, toolkits for user innovation and design, innovative social networks, interdisciplinary interfaces in new product development, as well as strategies for the commercialization of technological knowledge.
Reinhard Prügl’s work has repeatedly been honoured with prestigious awards, including the Rudolf- Sallinger Award for doctoral theses in 2006, the Best Scientific Paper Award in the EDAMBA Research competition in 2004 and the Award for Innovative Teaching at the Vienna University of Economics as well as the first prize in the “Teams for the Future” business-plan competition in 2002.
