Dr. Frank Piller is one of the leading experts on mass customization, personalization, and open innovation. As acclaimed scientific adviser, frequent corporate speaker and keynote presenter at various conferences, Frank Piller holds the chair of management at the Technology & Innovation Management Group of RWTH Aachen University,Germany and is a founding faculty member of the MIT Smart Customization Group at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is also chair of The World Congress on Mass Customization and Personalization (MCPC) and founding director of “The International Institute of Mass Customization & Personalization”.
Since 1997, Frank Piller has published numerous books on mass customization, reflecting his research focuses on mass customization, technology, innovation and production management, as well as co-creation processes between businesses and customers. He has edited over 50 other books and numerous of journal papers in related fields and is frequently quoted in The New York Times, Financial Times, The Economist, Business Week and many more. He is also founder of The International Journal on Mass Customization.
